About Monika
I am deeply invested in the potential of digital innovation and online platforms. I find fulfillment in setting up organizations’ systems in communications departments, crafting meaningful content, advocating for change and bringing ideas to life through events. I believe that technology can be a powerful force for bridging gaps, eradicating poverty, supporting free and pluralistic societies, and advancing environmental sustainability—all while championing gender equality and social equity.
Our shared human needs— clean air and water, a healthy planet, nutritious food, quality education and healthcare, safe environments, freedom of expression, and open markets—are at the core of my work. I draw continuous inspiration from colleagues and friends who boldly explore new and unfamiliar territories to help societies evolve and thrive.
Who I’m Committed to Helping
I am particularly keen on supporting non-profit and member-based organizations, financial institutions, private sector companies with strong corporate social responsibility sector and individuals who dedicate themselves to honing their craft, often placing less emphasis on their digital presence. My goal is to help them elevate their profile, amplifying their influence and success.
In addition to global and regional non-profits, I am enthusiastic about collaborating with:

My Background
Educational & Experience
I hold a BA in Political Science, an MA in International Relations, and have almost two decades of experience in communications in international development and about 10 years in event management. I continue to learn and grow each day.
Career Path
Growing up in the volatile Western Balkans, I was always moved by and interested in current events. I started as an editorial assistant at the Reuters Balkans News Desk, which naturally progressed into communications for international organizations. Managing events—from logistics to content and all aspects of communications—was a logical progression.
Global Leadership, Event Management & Cultural Adaptability
Throughout my career, I have worked in 19 countries, leading ad-hoc teams of over 20 people for four regional and four global conferences. I also guided a permanent team in executing over 50 online, hybrid, and in-person events annually. Having lived in Austria, the UK, Malaysia, Luxembourg, the Western Balkans, I bring a global perspective and adeptness in navigating diverse cultural contexts.
